Try the cost calculatorTyne and Wear runs along the Tyne through Newcastle, Gateshead, Jarrow and the Shields towns to the coast at Tynemouth and Whitley Bay, and down the Wear to Sunderland and Washington. It is a riverside county, its shipyards and heavy industry turned to a new economy of manufacturing, electronics and food, with a dense city and coastal hospitality trade.
Every kitchen across Tyne and Wear runs concealed extract ductwork that is a fire matter as much as a hygiene one, and the dry and laundry ducting behind them clogs with dust and packs with flammable lint. We clean and certify commercial grease, ventilation and laundry ductwork across Tyne and Wear to TR19 Grease, from Gateshead to Whitley Bay.
Insurers and fire risk assessors work to TR19 Grease because it measures the whole extract system rather than the visible canopy. It grades grease by depth and fixes the point at which a run has to be cleaned again - so the interval is a measurement, not a guess.
Across Tyne and Wear we work to that one standard, whether the run climbs out of a Newcastle city restaurant or a Sunderland care-home laundry.
Extract ductwork from fryers, grills and ranges coats itself in combustible grease along every hidden section to the roof fan. We clean the complete run to TR19 Grease and record post-clean readings.
Supply and general extract ductwork fills with dust, debris and mould that throttles airflow and spreads contamination. We clean and inspect dry ductwork so it actually ventilates.
Tumble-dryer and launderette ducting packs with lint, one of the most flammable build-ups in any building - common in hotels, inns and care homes, and easily overlooked until it is a fire.
We cover the whole of Tyne and Wear - every town below has its own page for this service.
Tyne and Wear eats around its cities and coast: the restaurants of Newcastle and Gateshead, the seafront kitchens of Tynemouth and Whitley Bay, the town centres of Sunderland and the Shields towns, and the trade-estate canteens throughout. Every one answers to the same Food Hygiene Rating scale and the same duty on its extract ductwork.
We trace the whole route, find where access is missing and set the scope and interval to your cooking hours.
Compliant hatches go in where the run is sealed, and the area is sheeted and protected.
The full run is cleaned to bare metal, with grease-depth readings taken as we go.
You receive the certificate, the readings, the photographs and a next-due date for the logbook.

We have cleaned and certified commercial ductwork since 2001, across Tyne and Wear and the UK. Whatever the run - a grease riser, a dry office system or a care-home laundry duct - the work ends the same way: bare metal, a photo record and a certificate that stands up to a fire risk assessment.
