At a fibreglass laminating shop on the Express Park estate near Bridgwater, laying up and trimming glass-reinforced plastic, the extraction over the lay-up bay and the trimming station had lost capture and styrene vapour and glass dust were hanging over the floor. We measured capture at the lay-up bay and the trimming point, checked the ducting and the filter, and found a fan below duty dragging the run. We set out the remedial action, and re-tested to confirm the control before certifying.
