At a sheet-metal fabrication and coating shop on the Rhyl harbour-side units, cutting and welding sheet steel and powder-coating the work, the extraction over the cutting table, the welding bays and the powder booth had lost capture and metal fume and powder overspray were carrying across the shop. We measured capture at the cutting table, the welding bays and the powder booth, checked the ducting and the filter, and found a fan below duty dragging the run. We set out the remedial action, and re-tested to confirm the control before certifying.
